How many maps are in PIT OF GOBLIN?
No official page gives a map count. The launch release calls the levels randomized, with secret rooms. The 1.0 notes add The Undergrowth and The Great Library. The achievement Joy of Discovery asks you to travel to five different biomes, so five is a floor, not a total.
Why a single number would be a guess
I looked for a total on the Steam listing, the 1.0 announcement, and the Games Press release. None of them count the maps. Community pages then list ten dungeon names, and several of those names are cards on a wiki locations page whose own articles do not exist. A card is not a layout.
Depth is separate from the biome name. Gear changes where a dive starts: one gear at -2, two at -3, three at -4. Deeper starts are described as harder and richer. That rule is about the dive, not about a fixed atlas.
Names that do have a paper trail
The Undergrowth and The Great Library are the two 1.0 biomes named by the studio: new traps and items hidden in plants for the first, forgotten shelves and magic clues for the second. Castle is the community entry with the most detail: mid-game, with skeleton soldiers, the Knight, an eyeball, pitfalls, spikes, a great hall, rafters, and a dungeon wing that leads toward a prison.
Cellar, Mines, Crypt, Caves, Darkburg, and Dark Castle show up in community lists. Mines are tied to the pickaxe and gems by more than one guide. Caves, Darkburg, and Dark Castle are one-source names. I leave their enemy lists blank.

Questions
Is there an official map count?
No. Randomized levels plus two named 1.0 biomes is what the studio published. Five biomes is an achievement condition, not a census.
Are the layouts fixed?
The launch release says the levels are randomized. I am not drawing a floor plan from that sentence.
