Is PIT OF GOBLIN co-op?

Yes. It is online co-op, and the store pages also list single player. Since 3 November 2026 the cap is 6. Early Access was 4, and a few official sentences still say 4. There is no split-screen mode in the pages I read.

Solo, friends, and random lobbies

You can drop in alone. PlayStation’s line is “1 player,” and Xbox lists single player next to online co-op for 2–6. Friends use invites. Community notes describe a host lobby code for a private room, and a Join random option when you want strangers.

Crossplay among PC, PS5, and Xbox Series is the 1.0 rule. The details, including Game Pass, are on the crossplay page. The live Steam count is a different question from the lobby cap: six is the room size, not how many people own the game.

When the lobby fails

If you sit on “joining” or 15 percent, use the multiplayer errors page. The short version from developer replies is: same version, restart Steam, mind the VPN rule, try another host. Mods that touch time or the HUD are PC-only packages and can be a suspect if only one friend crashes.
