Is PIT OF GOBLIN worth it?
On 6 November 2026 the Steam store showed 970 reviews and 84 percent positive, including the recent slice. PlayStation showed 3.91 out of 5 from 11 ratings. Metacritic had no critic score posted. GameCritix published 4 out of 5. That is the whole critic pile I could verify.
What the price buys
US Steam was $5.99, or $4.19 on the launch-week sale. Consoles were $7.99. Game Pass Premium and Ultimate include it. If you already pay for one of those tiers, the money question is mostly whether you want it installed.
I would buy it for a group that already likes short, nasty co-op runs and can stand a host disconnect. I would wait if you need a long solo campaign or a critic-consensus score, because that consensus is not published yet. Those are judgments about the public record, not a playtest score.
Games people put next to it
Store tags and the way people search put PIT OF GOBLIN near Lethal Company and R.E.P.O.: a few friends, a dark job, a shared failure. Lethal Company is from Zeekerss. R.E.P.O. is from semiwork. They are different games with their own prices. I am not scoring them against this one.
SteamDB’s review total the same day was 1,234 at about 84 percent. I leave it beside 970. A bigger number is not automatically the storefront number your purchase page shows.
Questions
What do critics say?
GameCritix scored 4/5. Metacritic had no critic score on 6 November 2026. I will not write “critics love it.”
Is 84 percent enough?
It is 970 Steam reviews at that ratio. Recent reviews matched the lifetime ratio that day. Read the latest patch note before you decide, because 1.0.4.1 is a save fix, not a review reset.
