How many players can play PIT OF GOBLIN?
Since 1.0, the cap is 6 players online. The 1.0 announcement says the goblin limit increased from 4 to 6. You can also play alone. Early Access, from December 2024, was 4.
Why some official pages still say 4
The studio homepage still says online 4 player co-op. The Xbox store description still says up to three goblin buddies, which is a party of four. Those pages were still worded that way on 6 November 2026. I am not editing the studio’s old sentence into the new one.
The pages that match the 1.0 launch are the announcement itself, the PlayStation line “up to 6 online players,” and the Xbox capability line “Online co-op (2-6).” Steam’s store categories include online co-op and cross-platform multiplayer.
Not couch co-op
This is online play. Xbox’s cloud-gaming help says cloud play does not support local multiplayer: one player and one account at a time. I use that for the cloud case. I have not found a split-screen mode on the store pages.
Requests for a fifth seat showed up in Steam discussions during Early Access. The 1.0 cap of six is the outcome those posts were waiting on. A mod that adds still more players was not on Thunderstore when I checked.

Questions
Can I play PIT OF GOBLIN solo?
Yes. PlayStation lists 1 player and Xbox lists single player, alongside the online cap.
Is the cap 4 or 6?
6 since 1.0. 4 was Early Access. The homepage and one Xbox sentence still describe the old cap.
