PIT OF GOBLIN multiplayer not working
Most public connection notes are developer replies on Steam, not a status page. Start with the same game version on both sides, a Steam restart, and the VPN rule they posted. Then change who hosts.
Order that matches the replies
A developer reply on the “can’t join a friend” thread says to update and restart Steam and the game, and to turn a VPN off. The same reply says players in Russia may need a VPN because part of the multiplayer service is blocked there. Those two VPN lines are opposites for a reason. Read which one applies to you.
The studio posted a known issue about loading stuck at 15 percent and later said 1.0 fixed a lot of connection problems. One player in that thread reported that turning cross-platform play off let them connect. That is one person’s result, so I am not listing it as a studio step. If you are stuck at 15 percent, try another room or another host before you touch that switch.
Host load, invites, and the elevator
The game is described by the developer as peer-to-peer, with the host carrying more of the load. High feeding levels have been tied to a host crash that drops everyone. On an Xbox thread where multiplayer stayed on “joining,” the developer asked whether the player used Join/Host Random or a private invite.
If a friend vanishes while the elevator loads, the developer suggested removing a forced “VSync off” override in the NVIDIA control panel and letting the game control it. The reason they gave is that the game had a frame cap and the physics misbehaves when the frame rate runs away. Still stuck: email Player.log to [email protected].
| Step | Source kind |

Questions
Does 1.0 fix the 15 percent bug?
The studio said 1.0 fixed many connection problems. I still see later posts about invites and disconnects, so I am not calling online play finished.
Are there error codes?
The public threads describe failures in sentences, not in a code table.
